1. Who may file an employment discrimination charge?

Any individual who feels that his or her employment rights have been violated may file a charge. |

2. Criteria for filing an employment discrimination charge:
A charge must meet certain criteria, depending on where it is filed.
LOCALLY (Lee County):

The employer must be located in Lee County, Florida |

The employer must have a minimum of 6 full-time (31 hours/week or more) employees |

 |
A covered basis: race, color, sex, national origin, age (40+), disability, or retaliation |

Time limit to file a charge: 300 days from the date of the alleged discrimination |
STATEWIDE (Florida):

The employer must have a minimum of 15 employees |
