North Fort Myers
Located in north-central Lee County north of the Caloosahatchee River across from the City of Fort Myers, North Fort Myers is one of the county’s most diverse communities, featuring urban commercial centers and residential areas, suburban neighborhoods and commercial corridors, and rural lands. Recognizing the diverse nature of the community, North Fort Myers community planning efforts seek to foster development which supports and promotes the unique nature of the surrounding area. In order to accomplish this goal, North Fort Myers is actively engaged in a number of community planning activities:
- North Fort Myers Community Plan and Lee Plan Goal 28 improve the community’s livability and economic vitality by promoting the redevelopment of its urban core, supporting the continued vitality of its suburban neighborhoods, and protecting its rural lands and natural resources.
- North Fort Myers Land Development Code, Section 33, Article VIII, addresses community-wide development standards including community design, mixed-use neighborhood centers, landscape standards, and natural resource protection.
- North Fort Myers Town Center. The North Fort Myers Town Center project explores plans for an urban mixed-use center along US 41 between the Caloosahatchee River and Pondella Road. This is an active community planning project. If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please contact Kathie Ebaugh at email@example.com or (239) 533-8313.
