DEMOLITION PERMIT REQUIREMENTS

 


 

Commercial Interior Demolition Requirements

  1. Completed Application
  2. Three floor plans showing as is and highlighting the area to be demolished
  3. A notarized letter from property owner, giving permission to contractor for demolition or
  4. Recorded Notice of Commencement, if job value is over $2500.00
  5. Asbestos Affidavit

 

**If the walls to be demolished are non-load bearing walls (and not firewalls), and the existing use is staying the same, then a permit may be issued over the counter and the permit fee is $150.00.  However, if the use is changing or the work affects other trades or structural components, the application may require a plan review and the plan review fee of $50.00 is due at submittal and typically a $150.00 permit fee at issuance.

 

Commercial Building Demolition Requirements

  1. Completed Application
  2. Well protection form
  3. Three site plans showing property dimensions, all structures on property and highlighting building(s) to be demolished
  4. A notarized letter from property owner, giving permission to contractor for demolition or
  5. Recorded Notice of Commencement, if job value is over $2500.00
  6. Asbestos Affidavit
  7. Letter from Well Department in regards to all wells on property
  8. Letter from Lee County Utilities (if services provided by Lee County Utilities)

 

**Permitting fees will be $150.00 and permit will be issued over the counter

 

Residential Interior Demolition Requirements

  1. Completed Application
  2. Three floor plans showing as is and highlighting the area to be demolished
  3. A notarized letter from property owner, giving permission to contractor for demolition or
  4. Recorded Notice of Commencement, if job value is over $2500.00

 

**If the walls to be demolished are non-load bearing walls, then permit will be issued over the counter and the permit fee is $150.00.  If permit is required to go to plan review for demolition of load bearing walls, then the plan review fee of $50.00 is due at submittal and a $150.00 permit fee at issuance.

 

Residential Demolition Requirements

  1. Completed Application
  2. Well protection form
  3. Three site plans showing property dimensions, all structures on property and highlighting building(s) to be demolished
  4. A notarized letter from property owner, giving permission to contractor for demolition or
  5. Recorded Notice of Commencement, if job value is over $2500.00
  6. Letter from Well Department in regards to all wells on property
  7. Letter from Lee County Utilities (if services provided by Lee County Utilities)

 

**Permitting fees will be $150.00 and permit will be issued over the counter
