Revalidation of Letters of Map Change

REVALIDATION OF LETTERS OF MAP CHANGE ON FEMA MAP PANELS 591F, 592F, 593F, AND 594F IN UNINCORPORATED LEE COUNTY

Effective May 8, 2012, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued a Letter of Map Revision (Case 12-04-3212X) to correct a minor display error on Flood Insurance Rate Map Panel 12071C0591F.  This case also affected panels 592F, 593F, and 594F.  The final determination document for this case states: “NO REVISION TO THE FLOOD INSURANCE STUDY REPORT” results from this action.  Base flood elevations and flood zone boundaries were not changed by this case.

However, some mortgage companies have declined to accept any Letters of Map Change (LOMA or LOMR-F) on panels 591F, 592F, 593F, or 594F that are not dated after May 8, 2012.  Therefore, anyone with a Letter of Map Change on these panels may re-apply to FEMA for a new one.  There is no charge from FEMA for this review.

This application can now be submitted online at www.fema.gov/online-lomc.

This application requires these documents:

  • The original LOMA or LOMR-F Determination Document (Removal).  Please note:  If you don’t have your copy, contact jlaguardia@leegov.com.
  • FEMA MT1 Form: Complete and sign this form.  Please note:
    • To expedite these revalidations, submit the form as a LOMA without regard for fill. The existing LOMA or LOMR-F will provide the fill-related information.
    • Not sure of the legal description for your parcel? Look on the current LOMA or LOMR-F (under LOT, BLOCK/SECTION, SUBDIVISION).  If it’s not there, you can look it up on the Lee County Property Appraiser web site: www.leepa.org.
    • No need to include documents on the page 2 check list.  Your existing LOMA or LOMR-F will provide this information.
    • No need to complete the Processing Fee section.  There is no charge for this.
  • Letter of Explanation from the Lee County Floodplain Administrator.
