Lee County Manager: Roger Desjarlais
Roger Desjarlais has been County Manager since 2013, overseeing a $1.86 billion budget and more than 2,400 employees. Desjarlais previously was Chief Deputy at the Lee County Property Appraiser Office. He also served as Broward County Manager for seven years. Prior to that, he had a two-decade career with Lee County government including a post as Assistant County Manager.
The County Manager is appointed by and reports to the Lee County Commissioners. The Manager implements the policies and programs of the Board and provides general management of county government.
The County Manager directly oversees the Economic Development Office, the Sports Development Office, the Visitor & Convention Bureau, the Environmental Policy Management Office, and Office of Communications.
The Assistant County Managers oversee the rest of the County departments.
