Details: Bat House Park is in the process of being upgraded to have ADA restrooms, benches, a parking lot and fish cleaning stations. Matlacha Bat  House Park is adjacent to the Matlacha Bridge, which is one of the world’s most “Fishingest” Bridges.  The Park is located along Matlacha Pass which is famous for catching snook, reds as well as other local varieties of fish. Besides having amenities for fishermen/women, the improvements to the Park will make is easier and more convenient for visitors to enjoy the Bat House Park which is an eco tourism park. A bat house was installed over the water as part of the Matlacha Bridge replacement project to relocate the resident bats from the old bridge. 

The project will renovate the remaining portion of the old Snook Inn which is an historic facility. It is this historic facility that will be converted into ADA restrooms with a covered porch and an ADA ramp which will go to the parking lot. The site was used for staging while construction of the Matlacha Bridge occurred
