Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Assistance from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program is available by appointment only. For an appointment, please call 239-533-7900 on Friday mornings starting at 8 a.m. (unless the Human Services office is closed for a holiday) and press 1, 5 and 2 when you hear the greeting begin to play. If your call is disconnected, cannot be completed as dialed, or if you otherwise cannot get through, please hang up and immediately call back until you reach a person. Appointments are scheduled for the following week. LIHEAP is an entitlement program and certain income limits apply. For information on LIHEAP application process, please watch the following video. Emergency Services Utilities are available through the Intake process. Applicants will be screened by an Eligibility Specialist and must be able to document an unexpected expense or unforeseen temporary loss of income. Care To Share (CTS)
Care To Share is available only for Florida Power & Light customers through the Intake process. The maximum benefit is $500 and the household must be at, or below, 150 percent of the poverty level. Click on the links below for more information.
