What is the Family Self-Sufficiency Program?
The program helps primarily low to moderate-income households to become, or remain, self-sufficient.
How does it work?
We coordinate payments directly to vendors -- such as utility companies or landlords -- using financial assistance from county, state and federal grants. Assistance is not in the form of cash.
What help is available?
Assistance is subject to available funds and various program guidelines; due to funding cycles, all programs are not necessarily in effect at any given time.
How do I qualify?
Eligibility requirements may vary depending on the program. Call 239-533-7996 to arrange for a telephone interview, or toll-free at 866-408-9769, to make sure funding is available and that you meet the basic eligibility criteria. Please ask staff about evening appointment availability.
