San Carlos Bay - Bunche Beach Preserve is a natural beach preserve that provides protection for wetland systems such as tidal swamp, mudflats and sea grass beds. These systems provide habitat for fish and a wide variety of wading birds and shorebirds.
The vast majority of the preserve is land acquired through the Conservation 20/20 program. Approximately 15 acres of this 719-acre preserve is maintained by the Lee County Parks & Recreation Department as a public beach. The preserve includes paved parking, two fishing docks, a short boardwalk, two picnic areas, and a restroom facility. At the beach access point, there is an ADA-accessible Mobi-Mat that leads to a picnic area on the beach.
Guided walks are hosted regularly by the Lee County Bird Patrol to identify and discuss the birds and wildlife at this preserve. View schedule online.
