LEE COUNTY BOATER'S GUIDE NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE

FORT MYERS, Fla. (November 13, 2003) - Lee County's Boater's Guide - with updated state and federal speed zones - is now available to residents online.

The guide is available on the county's web site at www.lee-county.com/naturalresources/guide.htm.

The guide is produced by Lee County's Natural Resources Division and includes information about boating safety and manatee protection and boater safety zones. It includes a comprehensive map of these zones and the following informational sections:

•  Public Boat Ramps
•  Boater Education
•  Vessel Control and Water Safety
•  Resource Directory/Emergency Phone Numbers
•  Waterway Symbols
•  Underwater Operations
•  Shellfish Harvesting Areas/Marine Nursery Grounds

The Natural Resources Division provides services to manage, protect, restore, and enhance Lee County's natural resources. These services include soil and water conservation, water quality monitoring, water quality protection, flood protection, vessel navigation/marine resource protection, and the small quantity hazardous waste generator and pollutant storage tank programs.
