ROADWORK/CELEBRATIONS TO CLOSE ALL OR PORTION OF MIDPOINT MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY

FORT MYERS, Fla. (November 5, 2003) - Roadwork needed on the Midpoint Memorial Bridge and its approaches, and Veterans Day Celebrations, will close portions or all of the bridge at various times Monday to Friday next week.

Here's the schedule: 

• Monday, Nov. 10 (6 p.m.) - single lane closures for bridge maintenance.

• Tuesday, Nov. 11 (5 p.m.) to Wednesday Nov. 12 (6 a.m.) - bridge completely closed for Veterans Day Foot Race and then to prepare for resurfacing of Cape Coral side approach.

• Nov. 12, 13, 14 (Evenings) - single lane closures for repaving on the west (Cape Coral side) bridge approach.

Drivers should expect temporary rough conditions and reduced speeds entering and exiting the west approach (Cape Coral side) of the bridge following the Nov. 11 closure until resurfacing is complete in the following nights.
