"Southwest Florida Dart Association Set to Host State Tournament"

 

Fort Myers, FL - Oct. 23, 2003) In November 2002, members of the Southwest Florida Dart Association were victorious in capturing the state title in Fort Lauderdale. One of the spoils was the opportunity to host the state competition in 2003. After 11 months of planning, the 2003 Florida State Dart Tournament is ready to commence this weekend, starting Saturday October 25th.

The Southwest Florida Dart Association, reigning State Team Champions, have been busy getting the welcome mat ready for 29 of the best dart teams in the Sunshine State.

 

"We feel that we will be putting on quite a show even if you don't understand the game of darts, as we are representing Southwest Florida and we hope that the public will come out to give us their support" said Ted "Buzz" Carocci, President Southwest Florida Dart Association.

 

The schedule of events is as follows:

 

Friday October 24th

Captains reception - Sub and Pub Restaurant 2150 West First St. - 5:00 - 7:00 PM (MEDIA ONLY NOT OPEN TO PUBLIC)
The Florida Dart Association Executive Board, sponsors and Southwest Florida Dart Association Executive Board will be in attendance.

 

Saturday October 25th
9:30 AM - Team Captains Meeting
10:00 AM - Opening Ceremonies - Presentation & Parade of Teams with Team Pennants
10:30 AM - Start of Competition
4:30 PM - Dinner Break
6:00 PM - Resume Competition
11:00 PM - Complete First Day of Competition

 

Sunday, October 26th

11:00 AM -  Begin Final Day of Competition
4:00 PM  - Closing Ceremonies and Awards Presentation

 

All events will be held at the Ramada Inn & Suites at Amtel Marina, 2500 Edwards Dr., Downtown Ft. Myers.

 

Admission to the event is free.
