GROUP CONSENSUS BUILDING MEETING #2
TO FOCUS ON PRELIMINARY TRAFFIC FORECASTS
AND THE AFFECTED ENVIRONMENT
Fort
Myers, FL, May 15, 2003 - The Lee County Department of Transportation (DOT) and
the Collier County Transportation Division have scheduled the second small group
consensus building meeting for the CR 951 Project Development & Environment
(PD&E) Study in Lee and Collier Counties.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2003, from 6 - 8 p.m. at
the South County Regional Library, 21100 Three Oaks Parkway, Estero.
This
project has a unique public involvement program that allows interested parties a
significant amount of participation throughout the PD&E study process.
The consensus building process was designed to bring persons with
different areas of interest together to exchange information and ideas.
The
focus of the meeting will include:
Preliminary travel demand forecasting for CR 951
I-75
Origin/Destination Study - Where does the traveling public come from - where
are they going? Or who might
use CR 951?
Affected
environment including approved and existing developments, ground truthed
land use information, wetlands and critical habitat
Population trends
A 20-minute open house beginning at 6 p.m. will allow the public to review the project information and talk one-on-one with the project team. This will be followed by a formal presentation that will include a question and answer session.
