LEE COUNTY LAWS/ADMINISTRATIVE CODES EASIER TO ACCESS ON NET
FORT
MYERS, Fla. (August 8, 2002) – Lee
County citizens now have improved access to Lee County Ordinances and
Administrative Codes through a new keyword search engine on the county’s
Internet web site.
The search engine accesses only the county’s
ordinances and administrative codes databases – so it eliminates retrieving
extraneous information that may not be relevant to the search.
It is located at www.lee-county.com
under “Online Documents,” or directly at http://www.lee-county.com/Governance/search.asp.
County ordinances are local laws enacted by the
Board of Lee County Commissioners. Administrative
codes are the policies and procedures that govern how the county conducts its
business.
This is one of many technological innovations the
county has developed over the last several years to make county government
information more accessible and improve communication with the public.
One of the county’s goals is to use technology,
such as the Internet, to make it easier for taxpayers and customers to do
business with the county without having to physically come to a county building
or facility. The county recently
redesigned its web site, www.lee-county.com,
to make it easier for residents to navigate and get information.
Other applications on the web site include:
