LEE COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADDS RESOURCES TO WEB SITE

MYERS, Fla. (June 17, 2002) – Lee
County’s Community Development Department has added new information to its web
site in an effort to keep the public better informed on development issues in
unincorporated Lee County.
The department’s web site is www.lee-county.com/dcd.
New on the site are meeting agendas for the
following committees and boards:
Affordable Housing Advisory Committee
Building Industry Oversight Committee
Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals
Eagle Technical Advisory Committee
Executive Regulatory Oversight Committee
Historical Preservation Advisory Committee
Land Development Code Advisory Committee
Local Planning Agency
Mechanical Board of Adjustments and Appeals
Plumbing Board of Adjustments and Appeals
Board of County Commissioners Zoning Hearings
A “What’s New – Zoning Cases” section
also has been added that highlights significant rezoning, variance and
development order applications before they have been scheduled for public
hearing. The list is periodically
updated.
Existing databases on the site include the Lee
Comprehensive Plan, the Land Development Code, monthly building permit reports
by area, “how to” lists for permitting and inspections, and information
about endangered and protected species regulations.
The county issued permits totaling $1.5 billion
in value during 2001, its third consecutive year of $1 billion+ permitting.
Lee County Community Development oversees
planning, zoning, and development services such as permitting, development
review, code enforcement and building inspections in the unincorporated areas of
the county and for Bonita Springs and Fort Myers Beach.
It employs 180 people and has a fiscal year 2002 operating budget of
$16.4 million.
