SECOND IN PARK CONCERT SERIES SLATED FOR SATURDAY 

FORT MYERS, Fla. (February 19, 2002) – Lee County Parks & Recreation is hosting its second of three Concerts in the Park at Three Oaks Community Park Saturday (Feb. 23) with 66 Decibels as the featured act. 

The concert is scheduled to run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

The concert series is free and soda, beer and food vendors are on site.  Coolers are not allowed into the event. 

Three (3) concerts are planned for this season’s series.  The first concert in November featured Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band from New Orleans.  Past concerts typically have drawn between 2,000 and 3,000 people.  Sponsors this year include San Carlos Park Sunshine Ace Hardware, radio station B103.9, J.J. Taylor Distributors (Coors Beer), Bill Vernay Movers, Vanderbilt Inn and the San Carlos Park Optimist Club.

Three Oaks Community Park is located at 18251 Three Oaks Parkway just south of Alico Road in the Three Oaks/San Carlos Park community.  The park has baseball fields, bike/jogging trails, picnic tables, shelters and grills, a playground and racquet ball courts. 

Lee County’s Parks & Recreation Department maintains and operates 3,500 acres of developed park land, 14 centers, 9 pools, five boat ramps, three Gulf beach parks, one lakefront beach, 76 beach accesses, 60 tennis courts, 73 ballfields, and 13 preserves.  The department’s fiscal year 2002 operating budget is $16.2 million.
