COUNTY SEEKING RESIDENTS TO SIT ON HUMAN SERVICES FUNDING BOARD
FORT MYERS, Fla. (January 2, 2002) – The Board of Lee County Commissioners is seeking applications from residents, including college students, who are interested in serving on the Lee County Human Services "Partnering for Results" Proposal Review Panel.
The panel is responsible for reviewing proposals submitted to Lee County from non-profit human service organizations and submitting funding recommendations to the Board.
The review panel will meet each Tuesday during the months of April and May from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Applications are available from the Lee County Department of Human Services located at 83 Pondella Road, Suite 1, North Fort Myers, FL. Applications should be returned to the Department of Human Services no later than Friday, January 25.

The Partnering for Results Program is a process that enables the county to receive measurable outcomes by purchasing "units of service" from participating human service agencies.
The county purchases services in the areas of: Supportive Housing/Living, Economic Opportunity, Activities for Youth, and/or Basic Assistance. Agencies submit proposals in February and the review panel makes funding recommendations to the Board as part of the county’s budget process. This year, the county approved annual funding contracts with 18 local human service agencies totaling $2.2 million.
The program serves low-income, homeless, elderly, developmentally disabled, and handicapped residents of Lee County. To be eligible, agencies must meet the following requirements:
