GIVE YOUR PET THE GIFT OF LOVE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!

Lee County Animal Services Offers Holiday Special on Microchip IDs

Fort Myers, Florida – Lee County Animal Services will offer microchip IDs during December for the special rate of $15.00. This is the perfect time to give your pet a gift of love for the holidays by ensuring a safe return home should it become lost.

Microchip Identification is a safe and permanent way to identify pets. The microchip, which is approximately the size of a grain of rice, is implanted by injection under the animal’s skin between the shoulder blades. The chip can be read by a scanning device that animal control agencies, veterinarians and humane organizations have as part of their equipment. The chips, which are nationally registered, will provide a number that identifies the owner of the animal.

The regular price of the Microchip ID is $25.00 for the general public or $15.00 with adoption or impoundment. Animal Services hopes this special offer will encourage pet owners to provide the extra protection a microchip ID offers since it can not be lost or removed like a license or other ID tags.

Lee County Animal Services is located at 5600 Banner Drive, off Six Mile Cypress Parkway, next to the Sheriff’s Department. For more information call (941) 432-2083.
