STATE MENTAL HEALTH COMMISSION TO MEET IN FORT MYERS FRIDAY

 

FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 19, 2000) – The state commission charged with the systematic review of Florida’s mental health and substance abuse systems will meet in Fort Myers Friday (July 21).

 

The Commission on Mental Health and Substance Abuse – created by Florida’s Legislature in 1999 – will hold its meeting at Southwest Regional Medical Center, 2727 Winkler Ave., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the auditorium.  Public testimony will be taken from 3-to-5 p.m.

 

The topic of Friday’s meeting will be “System Architecture and Financing,” with the closing of G. Pierce Wood State Mental Hospital to be discussed as a case study.
