Bookmark Contest Winners @ Your Library

Third, Fourth and Fifth graders from all over Lee County participated in the Lee County Library System’s "2002, Design a Bookmark Contest" and now, each branch has named a first place winner.

All Libraries in the Lee County System will hold a reception for all contest participants on Saturday, November 17, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. (South County Regional Library will hold its reception on Friday, November 16, from 3:00-5:00 p.m.).

Each first place winner will receive an invitation to a reception at Barnes & Noble (Fort Myers), a Barnes & Noble gift certificate, a free family ticket to Tellabration 2001 (the Tamiami Tale Tellers’ story telling event on November 17) and a first place certificate. 

Entries for the Lee County Library System’s "2002 Design a Bookmark Contest" will be on display in the library during Children’s Book Week, November 12-17.

The first place winner from each participating library will have his or her bookmark design printed in quantity for the public and displayed on the Lee County Library System website.

Other outstanding entries will be awarded Honorable Mention certificates.

More than 1,900 entries were submitted this year, using the theme "Get Carried Away... Read!"

Entries were judged at each participating library for originality, neatness and creative use of the theme.

The Lee County Library System has been holding "Design a Bookmark" contests for Children’s Book week since 1991.
