Fort Myers, FL, September 21, 2001 – It’s that time of year again. The renewal forms for all LeeWay Discount Program account holders have been mailed. While the service center will process the applications as rapidly as possible, only those forms received prior to the October 15^th postmark deadline are guaranteed no interruption in their discount programs. It is important to carefully follow the instruction sheet provided with the form. LeeWay customers should verify the preprinted information provided and correct or add any new information on the form.

The 50-cent coin drop payment program has been discontinued effective midnight October 31st. This means LeeWay customers with a coin drop program are required to establish a Prepaid Toll Account or pay the full toll. Your prepaid account may be opened with a credit card, check, or money order in the amount of $30 for the 1^st vehicle and $20 for each additional vehicle. Establishing your prepaid account now allows you to participate in Variable Pricing. All you need to do is travel through the Cape Coral or Midpoint Memorial toll facilities during the Variable Pricing times of 6:30am to 7:00am, 9:00am to 11:00am, 2:00pm to 4:00pm, and 6:30pm to 7:00pm Monday through Friday, (excluding holidays) and you will automatically receive the 50% reduction in your toll. (Variable Pricing is not available to customers with the unlimited discount program.)

Although you are now required to establish a prepaid account to continue your discount program, you can now join the thousands of other LeeWay customers who have discovered the convenience of paying their tolls electronically. Toll plazas in Lee County will still have coin-drop buckets, however, full price tolls will be required. Eventually Lee County residents will be able to use their transponders anywhere in the state of Florida with the state’s SunPass system.

Lee County now requires the purchase of a transponder. The cost is $26.50 including tax. Replacement batteries and/or battery kits may be purchased at the LeeWay Service Center. If you currently have a transponder and are not requesting an additional transponder, no purchase is required at this time. If your transponder malfunctions, it will be necessary to purchase one. If you currently have a $45.00 deposit with LeeWay, this will be applied toward the purchase amount, and the remaining balance will be used to replenish your prepaid account.

You can now renew online. Check out the new look of our web page at www.leewayinfo.com. You can now renew your discount program online. Other forms are available if you wish to make changes to your account in the future, i.e., address or vehicle change.

The LeeWay Service Center will be open every Saturday in October from 9:00AM until 1:00PM during the renewal period, but customers are encouraged to mail, fax or email their form to the Service Center during this busy time of year. Regular LeeWay Service Center hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30AM until 5:30PM.
