LEE COUNTY GOVERNMENT ADOPTS FISCAL YEAR 2001-02 BUDGET

FORT MYERS, Fla. (September 19, 2001) – The Board of Lee County Commissioners adopted the Fiscal Year 2001-02 County Budget tonight, including significant increases for public safety, several major transportation projects and spending of more than $540 million for operations and new capital projects.

There are NO INCREASES in any of the county’s tax rates. The county’s new fiscal year begins October 1. Included in the budget is:
