HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION DAY THIS SATURDAY

FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 15, 2001) – Lee County Solid Waste is holding its next Household Hazardous Waste Collection Saturday (May 19) at Page Field from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The airport is located along North Airport Road in Fort Myers.

Residents can bring Drain Cleaners, Pesticides, Pool Chemicals, Polishes/Strippers, Liquid Paint/Thinners, Fluorescent Tubes, Car/Boat Batteries, Auto Oil/Antifreeze, Boat Flares, Empty Propane Tanks and items marked "Dangerous," "Flammable," "Toxic," "Poison," "Reactive," and "Corrosive" to be properly disposed of.

Also on Saturday, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 9-10, Fort Myers/Cape Coral, is holding its first Visual Distress Signal Disposal Drive. Old boat flares may be taken to the following locations:
