Mission Recycle Contest - $500.00 Winners

Fort Myers, FL. – The motto "Recycling Pays" is true for B. Carol Carter, Charles R. Hermanson, and the Bocilla Island Club Association who are the lucky winners of the $500 Recyclable Play-Off for March of this year. To date, a total of 18 winners comprised of residential and multi-family residences from the City of Cape Coral, the City of Fort Myers, and Unincorporated Lee County received prize money for recycling the proper materials and recycling the right way.

Lee County's Recycling Coordinator will be checking recycling bins later this month to find the residential and multi-family winner for April. This time the target area is Franchise Area 1 (South Lee County), serviced by Superior Waste. To qualify to win, residents should place only proper items into their recycling bins. The items should be relatively clean, lids removed and the paper items, including magazines, should be placed in a brown paper bag next to the bin. Corrugated cardboard should be flattened and placed under the recycling bin. All plastics with the numbers 1 through 7 are recyclable.

Lee County thanks all residents for their continued participation in the recycling program.
