LEE COUNTY NOW BROADCASTING ON TIME WARNER CABLE SYSTEM

FORT MYERS, Fla. (April 5, 2001) - Lee County residents who subscribe to the Time Warner Cable television system will now be able to watch programming about Lee County Government 24 hours a day. Time Warner subscribers can now tune in to channel 16 and watch Board of County Commission meetings, Lee TV Newswrap - the county’s news and information program, county information via an electronic bulletin board, plus other government programming.

Lee County has been broadcasting on a full time government access channel (Ch. 54) on the MediaOne (now owned by ComCast) cable system since August of last year. Time Warner now takes that same feed. An additional 40,000 homes will receive county programming bringing the total number of households reached to 113,000.

In addition to live meetings and Newswrap, viewers will be able to watch rebroadcasts of the weekly BOCC regular meeting, plus programming from the State’s Attorney’s Office, the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, and the University of Florida’s Agricultural Extension Service.
