First Ever, Bonita Springs Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day, March 24, 2001!
Fort Myers, FL (March 14, 2001) - On Saturday, March 24, 2001, the Lee County Division of Solid Waste and the Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track will sponsor a Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day from 8am to 2pm, at the Greyhound Track, off old US 41 in Bonita Springs. The drop-off is at no charge, and is for households only.
All residents are encouraged to dispose of items that are hazardous to their family and the environment, and do not belong in the regular garbage. This includes products such as: thermometers, pesticides, household cleaners, pool chemicals, paint, thinners, paint removers, solvents, automotive fluids, batteries, and fluorescent tubes. Please take the time to dispose of these harmful products properly by taking them to this collection.
The track is located in Bonita Springs, off 1-75 exit 18, on to Bonita Beach Rd., proceed west for two miles, turn south onto Old US 41 for approximately ½ mile, entrance will be on your left (east). All Drop-off Days are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather. Please don't bring empty containers! .Empty containers can be thrown in the regular garbage.
