Lee County Awards & Recognitions
For 125 years, dedicated Lee County employees have worked, largely behind the scenes, to provide efficient and cost-effective services to our citizens and visitors. This month we honor those achievements by highlighting some of the many awards and accolades earned by county departments over the years.
Below is a snapshot of about 40 major recognitions earned in 2011 and 2012. They run the gamut from excellence in plant operation for both water and wastewater treatment plants, to earning the first platinum certified “green” government fleet in the country. Lee County has been recognized nationally for excellence in our integrated solid waste management system and for the quality of our parks and recreation programs.
